Lucy

(Take Notice x Ice Age 8-7)
Yorkshire Female
Bred By: Harrell Family Farm

Stress: Negative

Lucy and Lola are littermate sisters.  We liked this mating so much we bought Take Notice and we bred the sows back the same mating.  We have 6 (Take Notice x About Time x “Rikki”) in our keeper pen to become sows for 2017.  Lucy and Lola are massive in their chest and width.

The dam of Lucy was Melba and her grandma was our Ricker Foundation sow we called Rikki. Kevin told us when we bought Rikki that she would be our best sow and generator for us. He was right! Rikki’s littermate sister was shown by the Taylor family in Indiana and the other two sisters was retained by Kevin Ricker. Rikki’s mother is a littermate to the mother of the Grand Champion Gilt at the 2012 Eastern Regional and was also the Champion Yorkshire Gilt. Rikki ‘s great grandmother RIY5 Lab Fancy 124-7 was the grandma of the 2010 World Pork Expo Junior National Champion Yorkshire Gilt. Rikki’s grandma RIY7 110-9 is a littermate to the mother RIY7 110-8 of the 2010 World Pork Expo Junior National Champion Yorkshire Gilt. RIY7 110-8 also produced White Mule a popular Ricker boar previously housed at Small Town Genetics. Both Mighty Mack 74-1 and Moonshine have sired multiple winners. Rikki’s pedigree traces back to the powerful One Ton and Spud sows.

I am very excited to build our Yorkshire herd around Rikki and with her granddaughter for future yorkshire generations.
